Saving the Future, Starting Here.
On July 18 (Tue.), 2023, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) held the LNG Producer-Consumer Conference 2023 in Tokyo.
The conference organized challenges involved in fortifying LNG security and developing the clean LNG value chain, and based on this, it compiled a chair’s summary as an outcome of the discussions in both the conference and workshops that Japan and the IEA had jointly held previously in order to determine possible elements of policies that are capable of solving the challenges. In response, Mr. Nishimura Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, released “LNG Strategy for the World – Chair’s Summary for the LNG-PCC 2023.” In addition, the conference was co-hosted with the Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre (APERC).
